Argentina Completes New Bridge Construction in Patagonia

Argentina's Minister of Economy, Luis 'Toto' Caputo, announced the completion of a new bridge over the Collón Curá River in Neuquén province. The project was developed on National Route 40, 30 kilometers from Junín de los Andes, and involved building a completely new structure 281 meters long with two lanes of traffic, paved shoulders, and over 700 meters of access roads. The minister stated that the project is fundamental not only for local residents and tourists but also for the circulation of regional products. The new bridge replaces the existing one, inaugurated in 1942, which was a single-lane structure that caused long queues to cross from one side to the other. Caputo emphasized that the new infrastructure provides more safety for Argentines and tourists, better connectivity with the Seven Lakes Route, greater agility for heavy transport, and a boost for the economic development of Patagonia. Following the government's announcement, Minister Caputo has been flooded with requests for repairs to national roads.
